I’ve put together a selection of wines for Easter that are consistently best sellers when I put them on taste.
Easter Red Wines
Domaine Horgelus Merlot Tannat 2016
Montreal du Gers, Cotes de Gascogne, France.
A delicious and fruity medium bodied red wine, a blend of soft and approachable Merlot added to a backbone of Tannat.
Domaine Castan Savignus Carignan 2016
Cazouls les Beziers, Languedoc.
Made from over 60 year old vines, 100% Carignan wines are unusual.
This wine is young and is not oak aged. It has rich stone fruit flavours some hints of tar and other savoury hints, with a soft rounded finish.
La Linda Malbec 2015
Bodegas Luigi Bosca, Mendoza.
Bench mark Argentine Malbec from a top class producer.
Delicious cherry fruit flavours, richness and excellent finish, no oak.
Easter White Wines
Domaine Horgelus Colombard Sauvignon 2017
Montreal du Gers, Cotes de Gascogne, France.
This has a terrific yet pungent gooseberry aroma and delivers the same on taste. The addition of Colombard to the blend, broadens the flavour base, giving it a richer but still crisp and fresh taste.
Rosendale Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2016
Rossendale Wines, Christchurch, New Zealand
Benchmark Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, this wine displays delicious gooseberry and tropical fruit flavours. Crisp acidity and some complexity. Very highly rated and multi award winner.
Cotes du Luberon Blanc Perrin 2016
Luberon, Provence, France
The Perrins are the much-esteemed owners of the great ‘Beaucastel’ in Chateauneuf du Paper, but also major producers of other wines in surrounding areas, always done to an immaculate and impressive level of quality
This is a delicious blend and excellent value
Happy exploring!
